What to Expect

You will spend a week in Buenos Aires fully immersed in Argentine Tango culture.

Your adventures begin with a pick up from EZE (Ministro Pistarini International Airport) to your accommodations in a beautiful house in one of the best neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, where we will gather for our informal orientation with empanadas. That evening we will attend our first milonga escorted by our local assistants.

What our participants say…

Daniela organized and pulled off a very memorable and effective Tango tour. Her attention to details and willingness to alter the schedule for a better experience was great! Very thoughtful and informative. So many nice personal touches as well that made the trip special.

Daniela’s BA tour is unlike any other international travel experience. I went with the expectation of improving my dance and between lessons, milongas, and the hired assistants, I met and exceeded that goal in ways I’d never considered. Daniela provided a wide sampling of culture including food, history, and influence of tango. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and I would absolutely go again.
— Leslie from Arizona
My wife and I were fortunate to have been part of Daniela’s Tango Tour. She thought of everything! I most certainly came back with improvements to my tango and broke some bad habits. My tango was a bit stuck and at a plateau prior to this tour. However, this tour took my tango to another level and gave me more confidence in my tango dancing. Highly recommended for anyone seeking to do the same.

FAQs

  • Yes. You need a passport. American citizens do not need a visa. You can read more at https://travel.state.gov/

  • The tour officially begins on June 27th. Book your flight from the US or Europe no later than June 26th.

  • June is the beginning of winter in Buenos Aires. Daytime highs in the 60’s and nighttime lows in the 40’s. I recommend bringing layers. There could be some rain.

  • No! Experience dancing at milongas is a must to attend this tour and a willingness and openness to learn and to grow in your dance.

  • Once the group is confirmed, the itinerary will be tailored and presented to you on the first day of the tour. The itinerary is a dynamic document that is likely to change during the course of the tour.

  • Yes. While this is an immersive tour, you will have some personal time for rest, solo exploring, more shopping or however you would like to spend it. However, your nights are for dancing!

  • The tour is city-based and intensive. We ask that side trips occur before or after the official dates.

  •  Absolutely. Many of our guests book extended stays. We recommend Airbnbs, VRBOs, and boutique hotels.

  • We stay in a private, curated tango residence (“Casa”) in the heart of Buenos Aires. Think comfort, culture, and community.

  •  Milongas are chosen based on the vibe of the group and what’s happening in the city that week. Expect classic salons, hidden gems, and neighborhood favorites. A Milonga (or 2) with Live Music is a priority.

  • Our 3 Master classes are scheduled typically in the afternoon and are dependent on the Maestros schedules and availability.

  • My assistants, as I like to call them, are hand picked by myself and my Maestra. These dancers are truly some of the best talent in Buenos Aires at the moment. Most of them speak english fluently. Some of them are touring teachers, frequent participants in Tango Competitions and avid social dancers. Take time to get to know them, they are truly extraordinary and amazing people and dancers.
